About the Area
Batemans Bay is the “Jewel” of the NSW South Coast.
Named by Captain Cook in 1770, this enchanting fishing port is encircled by forests. With its great beaches and equally great climate, you can enjoy its pristine beauty and contemporary facilities at any time of the year.
Situated at the mouth of the Clyde River, “the Bay”, as Batemans Bay is known, is an ideal base to explore the many beaches. Long Beach, Surfside, Batehaven, Sunshine Bay, Denhams and Surf Beach are just a few minutes drive from the township.
But don’t forget to enquire about Depot Beach, Durras, Rosedale, Malua Bay and Lilli Pilli ... these beaches are mostly in a natural setting and are truly some of the best on the coast.
For those interested in sporting pursuits, you can do it all at the Bay. Riding, fishing, surfing, boating, driving, walking, lawn bowls, horse riding, aerobics ... we offer it all. Aside from the Bay’s coastal beauty, the more adventurous can take 4WD tours into the remote wilderness, try game fishing on one of our many fishing charters or pan for gold at Old Mogo Town.
A visit to the “Jewel of the Coast” is sure to leave you and your family with memories to be cherished.
