Fundraising for Cystic Fibrosis

Red Rose Charity House

Back in 2005, LJ Hooker Batemans Bay in partnership with Sea Breeze Estate, embarked on the project to raise funds for CF research, through auctioning a purpose-built charity house.

Behind the venture, and coordinating it, was Michael Skuse, former Principal of LJ Hooker Batemans Bay. Sea Breeze Estate donated the 820sqm block of land at 32 Wattlebird Way, Malua Bay, just 600m from the beach. BHI Architects designed the 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home and construction was made possible through fundraising, sponsorships and donations.

LJ Hooker offices on the South Coast have organised and participated in a huge range of events including Red Rose balls, race days, business luncheons, book fairs, crab & duck races, golf, bowls & tennis day fundraisers, car washes, live music events, charity auctions and raffles and more … As far away from the build site as Bulimba in Brisbane and Mandurah in WA, many LJ Hooker offices made straight donations to the project. Many contractors, builders and suppliers have also given their support along the way, providing goods and services to allow the project to move forwards.

Somewhere around $2,000 still needs to be raised to take Red Rose House to completion.
